| Clairefontaine Clairefontaine was originally established In 1858 as a paper mill and the first stationery products from the mill were sold around 1890. Clairefontaine produces its own paper to ensure its legendary quality. The famous "brushed vellum 90 gsm" paper is highly resistant and opaque, thus preventing the ink from "bleeding", and offers a unique satin finish for easy writing. It's superb, yet not glaring whiteness, also stems from extensive research. Because Clairefontaine produces its own paper it can not only guarantee consistent quality but also control the environmental impact of each stage of the manufacturing process: Clairefontaine has been ISO 14001 certified since 2000 and this means that it meets all applicable legal and environmental requirements and is committed to a continual improvement policy with regard to its impact on the environment. |

| G Lalo G. Lalo – Parisian Social Stationery G. Lalo has been making stationery since 1920.Throughout the years, the quality and elegance of its products led it to be ‘de rigueur’ in most of the royal courts of Europe. When pleasure or etiquette require the best in matters of correspondence, invitation, or simply, writing, people turn to Lalo papers. Georges Lalo came to Paris as a youth around the turn of the century. He worked hard, and attended drawing and sketching classes at night. During World War I, he decided he wanted he wanted to found his own company. Shortly after he was discharged by the military, he rented a modest studio and bought second-hand stamping machinery. G. Lalo was founded in Paris and has remained there ever since.
G. Lalo has remained at its heart a small, personal stationery maker. It has kept its French identity and style over the years. The gilded stationery is still prepared one sheet or card at a time. One person stamps the gold by hand using an ancient machine. It takes a long time, but the result is beautiful.
G. Lalo was situated close to luxury Parisian stationers and department stores. They were among the core of his earliest clients, and remain so to this day. . |
| Brause Brause produces steel calligraphy nibs, calligraphy nib holders, and calligraphy sets.Brause was founded in 1850 in Iserlohn, Germany. Since then, Brause has been producing nibs considered to be one of the best on the market by professional calligraphers.
With over 100 years of manufacturing experience, Brause is one of the rare companies to guarantee an essential quality for its nibs: a subtle balance between relative elasticity for easier writing, and necessary resistance for clear strokes. Brause uses cold rolled steel to manufacture its nibs. This steel is delivered in reels which are required width for producing nibs. The steel is then pressed by tools specific to each model and nib size. Even in a modern mill parts of the nib manufacturing process are still done by hand. The most delicate part of the operation involves cutting a slit down the middle, enabling the ink to flow correctly and freely from the reservoir to the tip of the nib. During this operation, and depending on the nib model, the tip is bent slightly to give it a spherical shape. |

| Oliblock Oliblocks are the brainchild of designer/architect Daniel R. Oakley The idea for Oliblock came from Oakley's desire to create a toy that would encourage children (and adults!) to think about building things in a new way. Oakley envisioned a toy that would introduce a way to challenge, teach and stimulate a child's mind, yet be fun and appealing at the same time. The result was the development of Oliblock, an architecturally inspired set of "building blocks" unusual in their interaction with each other and organic in shape. |

| Cross The A. T. Cross Company is a major international manufacturer of fine writing instruments, timepieces, and personal accessories. For more than 158 years, Cross has re-invented writing instruments, combining design ingenuity with jewelry-quality craftsmanship. They were America's first manufacturer of quality writing instruments, and that means that they've been making pens people use, depend on and enjoy for a long time. It all began with Richard Cross, who founded the company the same year both the Smithsonian and the sewing machine were born, just as Samuel Morse’s magnetic telegraph pushed Westward and America braced for a war with Mexico. Cross was a highly skilled pen and pencil maker, who passed his knowledge on to his son, Alonzo Townsend Cross. In 1916, the Cross family sold the company to an employee, Walter R. Boss, who led our growth into the company you know today. Today, Walter's grandsons are at the helm of the company, which became a public security traded on the American Stock Exchange in 1971. |

In fact, the roots can be traced back to 1662 - the year in which first references to Friedrich Staedtler as a pencil-making craftsman were made in the city annals. |
